August 1st brought together everything I love about wedding days — family, laughter, and a small ceremony surrounded by the people who matter most. Logan and Gabrielle were married in a small ceremony with close family and friends, and honestly, those are always my favorite kind to photograph.

As a Benedictine oblate of Saint Meinrad Archabbey, Stephen has a long history with the monastery in rural southern Indiana. In July, he traveled from Arizona to speak about Servant of God Dorothy Day—who was a Benedictine oblate of a different monastery—at the Alumni Reunion. His girlfriend, Toni Lynn, joined him for the trip. Sunday morning after Mass, Stephen took her up to Monte Cassino Shrine—a quiet spot tucked into the trees on a hill down the road from the Archabbey—where he proposed. Of course, she said yes!

There’s something special about photographing a couple in a place that already holds their story — and for Logan and Gabrielle, that place is the garden at West Baden Springs Hotel in French Lick. It’s where Logan proposed, so it only felt right to return there for their engagement session. Anyone who knows West Baden knows why: the scenery is stunning, and the whole property has a quiet, romantic charm that's hard to put into words.

A warm October morning at Beckley Creek Park made the perfect setting for the Wolz family. The kids brought plenty of personality, a few dinosaur impressions, and lots of laughter. Simple, natural moments like these are the ones that stay with me.

One year later, back by the river where they went on an early date. Portraits, a beer, a stubborn kite, and a lot of laughter — photos that feel like them.

Saint Meinrad has brought so many wonderful people into my life, including Pedro and Emily. In July, I had the pleasure of photographing their beautiful family at their Jasper, IN, home.

McKenzy and Kevin had a perfect Friday fall wedding surrounded by so much love. Their wedding straddled two states with the ceremony at St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church in New Albany, IN, and the reception at The Pointe in Louisville, KY.

Marie was born in December when the weather is not ideal for travel, and people are busy with the hustle and bustle of the holidays. Her family decided to surprise her with a half birthday party in July as she inches closer to centenarian status.
